Christmas Traditions

On Christmas we go look at Christmas lights and then we put our lights up. We always go to our grandma's house for Christmas and we go to church before we go to our grandma's house.

Christmas Marketing

In my family we go Christmas caroling and pass out candy canes. Some times we would drive around and look at Christmas lights.

Christmas Marketing

I don't think Christmas marketing has really effected my family's winter traditions every year. My traditions are that we put up a tree and decorated it. We put up stockings. We take pictures with the tree. So I don't really think Christmas marketing has really effected our family traditions.

Christmas Marketing

One of the traditions that marketing has made or showed is tooth brushes in our stockings at the very top to see, so you think your stocking is full but it's just the tooth brush being tall. It is a surprise. We also chop firewood at home from our palm tree and it burns okay, I guess (it burns fast). We eat coffee cake on Christmas and we read the Christmas story.

Christmas Marketing

Christmas marketing has changed our Christmas by getting more lights and setting it up. It has also affected my Christmas traditions by getting more ornaments than what fits on our tree. That is how Christmas marketing has effected our Christmas.

Christmas Marketing

They made the traditions that me and my family celebrates from the peppermint cocoa to the lights on the tree. I love Christmas.

Thankful

I'm thankful for my family and for everything they do. I'm thankful that my Dad runs a food ministry along with the church. I am also thankful that my friends and family are always there for me. I am thankful that I don't live on the street and my house is never cold. I am thankful that I always have food in the cabinet and fridge.

Thankful

There are things to be thankful for. But many things we take for granted, like school. A lot of people don't like school because they think their too cool for school or something, but school is something to be thankful for. Without school, you wouldn't get an education and then you couldn't get a job.

Another thing that people take for granted is our freedom of speech and the way we dress. Everyone should be thankful for because in other countries if you talk trash about your ruler, then you will go to jail or worse. Same with clothes -- mostly for girls, though. Like if you show too much skin, you will be punished.

There are a lot more things to be thankful for, but there's so many things.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful

Don't we all take our family, our food, our clothing, and our goods for granted. I know I do, most of us zone out all the people in need just hoping for a meal. We, however, get hungry when we only miss on meal. Here's what I say about it: be thankful, I'll do my best to get some of those people with one meal thankful also, but as for me, I'm thankful.

Thankful

I'm thankful for my family who love me and care for me. They give me a house to live in and give me food. I'm thankful for my bed and my room, my clothes that I can wear. I'm thankful for my school and my teachers. I'm thankful for our family car that we drive everywhere. I'm thankful for our TV that we can watch things on. I'm thankful for my pet that helps me practice responsibility.

Thankful

I am thankful for my family because they are always there when you need them. They always make funny jokes. I am thankful for my friends at school because they always seem to make me laugh and when I'm sad, they always make me fill better. I am thankful that I'm not dead right now or else I would not be writing this. I am thankful for my school because if I didn't have a school to go to, I wouldn't be that smart.

Four Senses

Students write a word paint about experiencing a drizzly morning using all senses except for sight.

I felt some drips on my head and I heard chain rattling. I also smelled something sweet and wet. I felt a cold bar of metal against me. The cold, moist droplets continued to fall on me. I heard mettle rubbing and birds chirping  The atmosphere was cold. It felt like forever. The grass felt really beautiful.  I heard some horns and honks. Also weed whackers, I think. Maybe a lawn mower. I heard cars and a whistle.

I heard a humming bird in a nearby tree. I heard a lot of cars and honking. I heard a scraping sound and the rambling of wheels and rain. I felt nice, kinda good, like my cousin's house in Oregon in their backyard. I smelled the rain and I smelled grass and moist dirt and it tasted like water and moist dirt. It kind of smelt like wet wood and wet cement. Wet trees.

I touched and felt wet water droplets and a weird bug rammed into my hand, but I don't know where it went. I felt water dripping around me. I felt some heat.

It tasted good, like clear water in a small stream and a the same time it felt warm, moist and it felt cozy, sweet, nice, and it tasted very nice like Oregon.

The Battle in My Mouth

My favorite foods are pizza, In-n-Out burgers, and chicken wings. My least favorite foods are tuna and sourdough. Once my mom made me eat tuna in order to have dessert. I pictured the tuna as a roaring dragon and me, the shiny knight. Every time I had an aftertaste, the dragon breathed fire. Then I took a sip of milk and blocked the fire with my shield. This battle went on and on until I was finished with my food. The dragon was then defeated and the knight got his brownie.

PS I was five years old when this battle took place.
