Netiquette

In a world where we communicate online, where you don't have to look someone in the eye as you say something potentially hurtful, there has been a loss of simple manners. The students have come up with some basic guidelines for being polite online.

Netiquette:

Don’t post inappropriate stuff.
Don’t post things that are private.
Don’t post as if you are someone else.
Don’t be rude.
Do not call them an impolite name.
Do make people happy
Don’t use hurtful words
Don’t cuss or use inappropriate words (you never know what kid is playing or your talking to).
Do tell the truth
Don’t cuss
Do be polite
Do say please and thank you
Do pretend you’re talking to a real person.
Do be kind.
Maybe try to have a conversation with tehm.
Do be respectful.
Don’t make fun of others
No foul language!
Post your self
Act like your good self
Be like your good self.
When you’re given something, act like you like it.
When you’re given something, write a thank you note.
When you meet someone, introduce yourself.
Do not call before 9am or past 8pm.
Shake hands
Don’t make crude jokes.
Don’t slap people.

Fame by Hannah

What would you be famous for?
I would want to be famous for singing. I like to sing so that would be something I would want to be famous for and I could probably date Niall Horan from One Direction.

What are the trade offs for fame? It would be hard to be a mom.

Fame by Emily

If I were famous, I would probably be an actress. I could possibly be famous, but I wouldn't want to be very famous. People who are really famous get criticized a lot. Anybody who's that famous is always criticized, no matter how good or bad they are.

Fame by Kieran

What would you be famous for?

I would be famous for amazing architectures, engineering, creating new transportation ways and building designs for just about anything.

What are the trade-offs of fame?

I would be getting millions of letters, e-mails, movie and TV show requests and media.
I would not be willing to give up what I still do with my life, something’s yes, but mainly I would stay who and what I am and stay for what I will be. The down side is that people who are my fans would want to always bother me asking me for something for them to be either working with me or make a friend or otherwise. The upside is that I would get items and access to things that would cost thousands or millions of dollars to do.

When the World Seems Crazy

Between bad cops, bad teachers, bad priests, and bad tectonic plates, sometimes you just need to watch a cute video.

Hero's Hopes for 2013

My hopes for 2013 are that I keep my room clean and finish my book. I want to read more than I already do. To learn how to cook lots of things for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. To grow my own garden. FOr my dad, that he becomes a pastor like he really wants to. For my mom, that she gets her garden planted. For myself to reorganize my room -- well, at least my upper half of my room. :)
In my back yard, to build a club house for my brother and sister.

I also hope to have a great year.

2013

What are your hopes for 2013?

I hope to get good grades this year by turning in my work on time. I hope I can talk less in class so I don't get into trouble. I hope my attitude will change. I hope this year I can get more One Direction items to continue with my collection.

This year I hope my family will spend a lot more time together. This year I want to stop arguing with my sister and my two brothers.

End of the World

In class we looked at a timeline of apocalyptic predictions and discussed what inspired people to predict the end times and why people believe them.

Below are two short articles by students.

The End of the World
I think that we predict the end of the world maybe because we want to know how long we have or maybe because they were insane. That is why I think we predict the end of the world.

by:Matthew

World Prophecy
(I personally think that when ever somebody predicts the world is going to end, it doesn't) But here's my prediction, I think in 2050 the scientists will finds an iceberg full of dinosaurs. They slowly, horribly, destroy the world and civilization ends. While civilization ends, the people riot and try to destroy the dinosaurs but fail. While people are dying, they blame the scientist int he very end.
Sad. Very, very sad.
